Or at least in my opinion it's the best.
My three years in Sapporo (which is famous for ramen) gave me what I hope is a discriminating palette when it comes to this deceptively simple-looking creation. Ramen comes in many flavors (salt, soy sauce, miso, etc.) but miso has always been my favorite, so I was delighted to find that the ramen shop that opened close to my apartment late last year specializes in miso. It truly is delicious - a hearty miso broth with yellow noodles that are boiled to a perfect firmness. My fingers always puff up afterward from all the salt in the broth, but I just can't help myself and I drink nearly all of it even after I have eaten all the noodles. It could be dangerous to my health to live this close to good ramen.
